Established in 1892 by the New England Land Company, Glendale is known for its excellent educational and medical institutions, beautiful older neighborhoods and a diversified economic base. Located 13 miles northwest of Phoenix, the city boasts 61 parks, an excellent school system, community theater, year-round performing arts events, and many places to shop, including the 1.3 million square foot Arrowhead Towne Center. Activities and Attractions
There are many activities to enjoy in Glendale, from shopping at the Arrowhead Towne Center, to taking the local trolley through historic downtown past gas lit street lamps, brick walkways and numerous quaint antique shops.
